Who is Tracie McGill?

Hi. My name is Tracie McGill, and I want to share a little about myself as you consider voting for our next Town Supervisor. I was born and raised in Plattsburgh and earned my Accounting degree from SUNY Plattsburgh. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Mark McGill, for 33 years. My family’s ties to Willsboro began in 1959, when my grandfather, Norman Allard, purchased property on Ryan Drive. Over the years, Willsboro became a special place for my extended family, two of my uncles eventually made it their full-time home. My husband and I were fortunate to buy a small camp on Willsboro Bay in 2013 which we decided to make our permanent home in 2016. We love this town, the people, the lake, the natural beauty, and we feel grateful every day to live here.

I’ve spent my career listening, solving problems, and leading teams through complex challenges—and I want to bring that same approach to serving Willsboro. Below are some highlights of the professional and community experience I would bring to the role of Town Supervisor.

Professional Background:

• Over 25 years of financial and leadership experience with state and federal agencies, public institutions, and global businesses
• Former CPA, Controller, and CFO with deep expertise in compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Strong background in workforce and economic development
• Experience leading large organizations and teams through periods of growth and change
• Strategic planning, contract and grant accounting, audits, and internal controls

Community Service:

• Former Board Member, Arizona Governor’s Workforce Investment Board & Chair, Youth Initiatives Committee
• Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer
• Former Regional Director, Women in Technology International
• Current Board Member, Willsboro Senior Housing Corp

Personal Interests & Hobbies:

• Lake Champlain history (my grandfather was born on a canal boat on this lake)
• Scuba diving
• Gardening (you may have seen the hops I’m trying to grow on Corlear Drive)
• Boating, swimming, and exploring the outdoors
• Restoring my '69 Charger
• Sustainability and conservation efforts to protect the land and water we love

I’m ready to serve Willsboro using my experience to listen, to lead, and to help ensure Willsboro’s future reflects the values and voices of everyone: longtime residents, seasonal homeowners, local businesses, and the hardworking people who keep Willsboro running year-round.
